The theme of this week's inspiration page is that "low point" that
everyone reaches now and then. It is certainly hard sometimes to see past the
trouble, but if we keep in mind that it is only temporary and contains within it
blessings, we can move forward.
One of my favorite quotes is "The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide." Below is a beautiful quote by Harriet Stowe regarding this, followed
by an inspiring story about not giving up. I hope you enjoy!
When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you,
Standing on the windwept shores of Lake Michigan one wintry night, ready to throw himself into the freezing waters, a 32 year-old bankrupt dropout happened to gaze up at the starry heavens.
Suddenly, he felt a rush of awe, and a thought flashed through his mind:
You do not belong to you. You belong to the Universe. R. Buckminster Fuller turned his back to the lake and began a remarkable career. Best-known as the inventor of the geodesic dome, by the time of his death he held more than 170 patents and was world-famous as an engineer, mathematician, architect, and poet.
